I built a Prusa i3 type printer, am using Repetier-Host & Slic3r ver: 0.9.10b . I must have some setting incorrect.

For example, printing XYZ-Circle_Cal_-_90mm the printer will do a great job laying down most of the first layer, then when it goes to cross over a previously printed area the print head hits it & bounces up & down. Then the Printer is off center. What am I doing wrong?

My first thoughts are lost steps during the Z move, or extruding far too much plastic on the first layer.
