Crank.stl error - two different outcomes?
February 19, 2014 06:13PM
Hello, this is my first post.

This part is a crank with a shaft near the outer edge of the main disk. When using Slic3r 0.9.10b I get an error message but I can generate a g-code file and import it into pronterface 2013.10.19. This results in the part printing correctly.

When using Slic3r 1.0.0RC3 I see that there are a lot of errors and when I export the g-code and import it into pronterface it shows a hole near the outer edge of the disk where the shaft should be.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how I may fix it so that it is usable in version 1.0.0RC3?

This file came from this project: [www.thingiverse.com]

Technically there is a hole in that part. It's actually 2 parts trying to print together. The shaft in the hole of the sprocket. The open gap between them may be too narrow for Slic3r to recognize it as such. Try an earlier version or another slicing program such as Cura and see if you get the same result.

Thank You! We opened it in a CAD program and see the hole. Appreciate the help.
