I am having some odd behaviour with rafts. To print a raft, Slic3r does this:
- Print fat lines to stick to the bed
- Print a series of thin lines above and perpendicular to the fat lines
- Repeat the previous step, moving the extruder in nearly the same paths it took last time, but this time extruding about 10% as much as it needs
- Begin the first layer
The result is an ugly raft that is hard to separate from the print and tends to mess up the first few layers.
Is there any way to make it make rafts that are essentially solid sheets with fat lines on the bottom? Think Makerware -- its rafts can be excessive, but certainly work.
