Specify support gap?

Specify support gap?

Hey all, I'm having a hard time with some of Slic3rs support settings.

I'm printing with PLA and it keeps trying to fuse to the print.

Is there any way for me to specify to slic3r that I want it to leave a gap of a particular size between the support material and the print? Basically I only want the two to touch if something goes wrong and the support is needed.

Cheers,
Veive.

Under support it's called "interface layers"

"Number of layers to be inserted between the object and support"

Interface layers are for raft (the kind of support that is print first in case the object(s) require it for bed adhesion).

I thing the question was about the actual support used for overhangs. In this case, the answer is no. There are issues with the way support is generated in the latest release, but some good support is provided in 0.9.1b.

There is a bug report about it here : URL

Someone proposed a solution but never added it, I took the liberty of doing it this afternoon....
