1.2.9 Flip problem
August 01, 2015 01:40PM
Just downloaded version 1.2.9, and on the first print I needed to rotate the flat top to the bottom to print, using - Flip > z axis. The holes on the sides of the print did not change position. See attached example files.

Tha is the correct behaviour. If you want to turn it upside down, then in the 3D view right click on the object, choose 'Rotate', then 'Around X axis...' and choose 180 degrees.

Thanks, I should have played with it a little more. The Flip operation is an interesting feature.

IMO it should be called "Mirror" instead of "Flip" to make the function more obvious.

I agree. It is kind of strange though, if you look at the blog post about the release of the 1.2.9 version (see attached image), it seems they mention both 'Flip' and 'Rotate' in the title even though in the screenshot they only show 'Flip'.

When it flips, does it know to place the bottom of the model on the bed?
