Layer Hight

Layer Hight

Hi

I am new to this forum and maybe I haven't found the answer form earlier post.

I want to have a 10 mm layer hight. But when I state that in the print settings. The maximum hight becomes 1 mm.
I read that it layer hight somehow has to do with the nozzle diameter so I have put in 20 mm on the filament diameter in filament settings
Then I have put in for the Printer settings under extruder nozzle diameter to 20 mm, limits min to 10 and limits max to 20

But I still get 1 mm layer hight. What am I not understanding?

Not sure what you are trying to do, but in order to get a 10mm high layer your nozzle would need to be 13mm or larger.
The filament they sell is only 1.75 to 3mm this will not print a single layer 10mm layer thickness.

If you have a .4 nozzle and you print at a layer height of .2 you would be printing 50 layers to get a 10mm tall model.

Tell me what you have and what you want, will try to explain what you need to do to get there.
Pictures might help to explain.

So I have this filament with diameter 20 mm and want to get the slicer to do 10 mm high layers.

Just tried this with Slic3rPE

I set

Layer height = 10
First Layer = 10
Nozzle Diameter = 20
Filament = 25

And I had to set all the advanced extrusion widths to 0

It seems to work fine. (My test model was a 250x210x200 cube)
