Dual Extruder

Dual Extruder
May 29, 2013 03:00AM
I have two Extruders connected & working in manual mode.
The problem is that the G-Code produced by Slic3r isn't working when Extruder 2 is selected.
Extruder 2 is selected for Perimeter, Infil & Support material extruder in Extruder #2 generated code.
The code selects T0 instead of T1 for extruder two.
It should use T0 for Extruder #1 and T1 for Extruder #2. These codes are used when selecting Extruder in manual mode.

Not sure if I understand you. I guess you want to say that slic3r creates the wrong code, meaning it does not select the extruders you said to use.

In that case open slic3r and verify that the settings are really assigned to different extruders. I have the problem that the settings in slic3r often spring back to the one before when changing the extruder assignment. So perhaps you have the same problem. Told slic3r to use extruder 2 and it sprang back to 1 on save.

Yes, Slic3r creates the wrong code unless I am missing something obvious.

I checked and settings are as set.

I can manually edit generated code and it will run correctly, just cant get Slic3r to do it.

Have you also defined that you have 2 Extruder in Printer Settings->General. If you do it at both places the code normally gets generated as expected.

Yes defined in printer settings too.

Then you should ask it in the slic3r forum. You should also post there screenshots of your configuration, because I think it is a wrong setting, also I do not know which if you set the two places right.

One last thing - have you also told the host you have 2 extruder and selected 2 filament profiles?

Hi repetier,

Yes I have told host I have 2 extruders & selected 2 filament profiles.

I will post to Slic3r forum as suggested.

Thank you for your help.

Rob.
