Repetier colors

What do colors on repetier print progress display mean?
Is it just a height map or something more interesting?

It is only a visualization of the last printed parts. You can set the distance for color transition and depending on position the color changes from filament color to hot color. That way you can easy follow, what the printer is currently doing as blue on blue is not good to see.
