Repetier Host Hangs on Mac OSX 10.9.3

I'm having trouble getting Repetier host to start after upgrading to the latest OSX release (10.9.3). The app runs normally for a second or two and then hangs. Upgrading Repetier Host to version 0.56 (53) doesn't help. Any ideas based on the logs entres below?

From a terminal window do "defaults delete repetier.Repetier-Host-Mac logSplitterHeight"
if this doesn't help do
"defaults delete repetier.Repetier-Host-Mac" it will erase all the settings for the Host.
It seems to crash when you adjust the log window size (the one at the bottom).

That is a good hint. I heard about that start problem and knew deleting preferences helped. Did not know that it had to do with splitter value. I also have 10.9.3 and tried to create that wrong preferences by changing the log splitter. But every change I did, did not cause any problems on restart. Does anyone of you have a hint on how to provoke the wrong value or what value gets stored that causes the crash?
