Upload to SD card (RAMPS)

Hi, does this feature usually work? I have the latest version on Windows, a RAMPS 1.3 board, it can see the files on the SD card already, mount and dismount seem to work, but uploading doesn't.

It does one of two things for me:
1) Nothing at all.
2) Starts processing the file being uploaded as if it was being printed. In fact if I let it finish it would print the object via USB instead of storing it on the SD card.

It's not a killer, but it would save the manual process I have at the moment.

ALSO:

When you upload to the SD card, it gives you the option of exporting all the GCode including the additional start and stop commands. This is great, it would be nice if there was an option in the GCODE viewer to save all this to a file as well. You can save the GCode to a file, but it doesn't include the homing instruction, so the print head sits on the last point it printed.

Uploading works but is always slow. Your desciption sounds like your firmware does not support it, also I don't know that a firmware did not support uploading while supporting print.

In the toolbar is a save button, that allows also saving gcode with start/end commands and even support saving in repetier-binary format.

Works for me using Repetier or Pronterface.
Just remember to name the file + extention .gcode

Yes, I use that button currently to export to put it on the card manually, but it doesn't seem to save the move back to home. I'm guessing that's because I have it checked in the repetier preferences, rather, so perhaps it only does that if you print direct...

I'm using marlin, it was fresh from github a month or so ago, so not sure if that is the problem, does Marlin support it?. I'm not wedded to marlin, I'd actually change just to get the sd card load working if the alternative is workable smiling smiley
