HAL.cpp:602:2: error: #error No servo support for your board

Trying to set up auto bed leveling with a servo, but i'm getting a compile error.

"HAL.cpp:602:2: error: #error No servo support for your board, please diable FEATURE_SERVO".

Is there a workaround or do i need a new board to get the servo going? I saw an old post about this, but i didn't understand the solution or if it would work for me.
What i think i understood is that there was a software solution for that problem.
