Actually, I printed and used the above PLA adaptor for a swimming for more than half a year, and failed to notice any degradation. PLA also resists sunlight (UV) better than ABS plastic... This is a bit puzzling to me as a biodegradable material, though it is very convenient in practice.
So this plastic is both robust and greener than almost anything I see around me, except for chocolate, clay, and wood may be (see further). A cool, versatile, easy, and useful plastic that needs no oil at all.
