I have been working on a branch of Slic3r 0.7.2b called Slic3T 0.7.2d .
It is almost completely untested and may have bugs. I have checked as many combinations of the new settings as I can think of without issue. Use at your own risk. It is only available as source currently so you will have to compile it yourself. Follow the compiling instructions on Slic3r.org at the bottom but replace Slic3r with Slic3T.

All of the defaults are set for Tantillus, if using with another machine please check the settings in the printer tab and custom gcode tab.
- I have brought out a bunch of retraction settings to hopefully work better with a bowden cable machine.
- - disable all retraction with one click
- - combine retraction with Z-lift
- - combine retraction with layer change
- - disable retraction on layer change
- - removed retract speed from menu and set to 1000mm/s internally
(use firmware limits to ensure full speed retracts even when slowing down the print via LCD or M220 Snnn).
- Allowed you to enter values as relative or absolute.

- Changed the math for the auto path width generation to better suit a bowden machine.
