Should the Z Endstop bracket move? Or should it be clamped on so tight that it goes nowhere? Mine seems to be affecting the starting height of prints.

It needs to be tightly secured.

The bottom line is that the printer will consider the point at which the endstop switch activates as home. If that point moves, then the axis home will move along with it.

Well, that makes sense... I tried tightening it tonight and had no luck. I can't seem to get it tight so that it doesn't slide up and down. I'll try again tomorrow.

Yonderboy had the same issue and to solve it he removed one of the Z brackets (top or bottom) and put some thing in the hole in the bracket or wrapped the end of the rod with tape to make it tighter and prevent it moving.
