Yet another side project, a big foldarap (mendel size), could be fun in demo ^^

Hi Emmanuel,

I'm loving the foldarap printers. I'm interested how the belts are working on yours? And are you just running plastic bushings on the extrusion? I can't seem to find more details about this.

Keep up the awesome work!

Thanks,
Glenn

Thanks grinning smiley

The belt are tensioned inside of the extrusion channel, by using the t-nut and a M4x10 bolt, the carriages (X, Z and I hope someday in Y too) are just printed in PLA at 20x20mm and fit the square shape of the aluminium extrusion smiling smiley
That mean, no smooth-rods, no linear bearing, just printed parts ^^

If I not already mentioned it here, have a look at the Alex's build, he's the first to beta-test this model smiling smiley

[balx.tumblr.com] on this post, the dwarf shown is 190mm high and took 13hrs to print !

When I said beta-test, I meant he is the first to replicate the project independently smiling smiley

yeah he told me he was crazy busy and had some time recently to update his github repo ^^

I'll have a try at nema 17 too, it will certainly help on bigger sized machines smiling smiley
