ATX power off?

ATX power off?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the M81 command at the end of the print?

I read it's possible with RAMPS boards by connecting the green ATX wire to a point on the board.

Is there any datasheet for the Melzi board and it's mysterious JP16/17 connectors?

I would be interested in this. It would be great to be able to turn off the machine completely at the end of the print. I often leave it running at night or when at work. The other things I was thinking was to hook up a relay through an Arduino or RPi, but your method seems much simpler! winking smiley

The schematic for the Melzi is on the Reprap Wiki.

You would need to power the Melzi from USB, which is never a good idea as USB 5V is not very accurate or stable.

Or a little latching circuit could be made to turn it on with a button and off with a pulse from the Melzi, which would then commit suicide by turning its own power off. It would probably need a couple of transistors.
