I just watched this video [www.youtube.com] and asked myself if the Mendel90 shouldn't have a printed idler too instead of a twisted belt.

A printed idler introduces more errors, particularly if you use a metal drive pulley rather than printed ones.

Twisting the belt has no down side as far as I know. The belt manufacturers show drive systems were the belt twists.
