Can you tell a little about issues when scaling down the Mendel-90 to a Huxley sized printer. I have tried changing parameters and studyed the output from make_machine.py.
The Mendel-90 will take up too much space in my small workshop :-)
It is something I am working on. Currently it scales down OK with 6mm rods and NEMA14 motors but it still uses the Wade's extruder, which is too big. I plan to use something like Ron's compact extruder to make it light enough for the smaller motors and shorten the X carriage to get the overall width down. I will also use 1.75mm filament so the spool is small enough to fit between the stays.
I have never tried Bowden but there isn't much point making the extruder lighter than the moving bed. I think Bowden only makes sense for moving head machines, or if you want lots of nozzles.
