Hot end stopped heating ?

Possibly this shouild be in the general forum , but as it might be the Melzi board at fault...

All working well one day with the M90, next day setting the heater on the extruder - no response.
Didnt change anything in between.
temp readng on pronterface ext = 6 degrees, bed = 6 degrees, stays at 6 degrees for hot end.
confirmed by trying at 50 degrees & touching hot end
bed heats up ok
Meter & inspection checked for connecivity & loose wires - looks ok
checked min temp value in the firmware - set to 0

Thinking now either resistor in hot end gone (unlikley?)or something blown on Melzi board.

Any ideas?

6 degrees is the ambient temperature of the room? That seems kinda cold.

Couldn't you disconnect the hot end and just connect a meter to the terminals? I wouldn't do this for an extended period of time, but it would give you idea if it is even getting any output.

Unplug the thermistor and measure the resistance. If it's open circuit, nothing will happen. Also you could check the heater resistor value.

Thnaks. looks like the resistor as no reading copared to a spare. Fix no problem.
