NOOB needing help on first build

hello, basicly ive just completed the kit supplied by nophead and wired it all up, everything works except the x axis stepper, when you try and jog it it vibrates and makes alot of noise and doesnt go anywhere.

As this is my first time i really dont want to go messing around with things before i get a bit of advise.

does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the issue.

im using pronterface to jog ten as the manual says.

all other motors wired up the same work perfectly.

What does an M119 command in pronterface return? This will help us see if it is end stop related.

Have you verified the color of the stepper wires, through the flat cable, and into the Melzi?

very sorry my mistake, i have been building very tired, looks like it connected the incorrect ribbon cable to the incorrect colour, guess thats what you get from revising for exams =']
