Bowden tube Mendel90

My confidence is so far from the point where I would undertake this kind of modification, but...dreams are fun.

Has anybody completed or even considered a Mendel90 variant with a Bowden tube type extruder? Like on an Ultimaker? It would move a great deal of mass off the x-axis, possibly allowing far faster travel. But is x-axis speed even the bottleneck on a Mendel90?

Just curious here, but I'm sure that there are better places for me to pursue improved capabilities (eg. like a properly sized cardboard box to get more control over the temperature in the build area).

The Y axis is the bottleneck because it has more moving mass, so there is no benefit to a Bowden extruder, just the downside of less control over the filament.

I think double extruder could be a benefit of bowden mod.
I do not see how you could fit a double direct extruder on the x axe....

Wouldn't increased x-axis speed be significant if your infill is linear and mainly in the x-direction?
