Designing for good infill

Hi,

If I am working with the PLA0.2 profile which has a W/H = 2.5, is it beneficial to design your infill clearances to be a multiple of 0.5mm (the extruded line width)?

I am curious e.g. if you have a hole adjacent to an object's edge then is it better to design the gap between hole and edge to be 1.5mm rather than 1.2mm or would Skeinforge produce a decent infill with both values?

Regards,
Neil Darlow

It won't fill a gap smaller than the width of the filament so any feature should be either twice the filament of three times or more. Anything between two and three times will have two outlines with a gap between them. This is assuming you only have single outline perimeters.

You can have the infill a different width to the outline but I have never tried that.
