I purchased this terminal block to replace the melted one on my Melzi. [cgi.ebay.ca]

Could someone verify that it will be an adequate replacement for the PSU connection on the Melzi before I solder it on. The specs are below:

Rated Current: 16A
Rated Voltage: 300V AC
Contact resistance: 20mΩ
Insulation Resistance: 5000mΩ / 1000V
Withstanding Voltage: AC1500V / 1min
Wire Range: 14-22A WG / 2.5mm
Poles: 2P
Pitch: 5.0mm
Screw Type: Philips Screw
Strip Length: 4.5-5mm
Temp Range: -30°C - +120°C
MAX Soldering: +250°C for 5 sec
Torque: 0.5Nm (3.6 lb.in)

Nophead is the ultimate authority on this but, personally, I am inclined to say that it would only-just be adequate.

The 16A current rating is close to the maximum the printer could require and that contact resistance value seems quite high and would not give much scope for achieving a good low-resistance connection.

The first few Melzis I bought had connectors like that and I haven't had a problem with them, but the ones I have made have better connectors.
