I bought a 26 way 28AWG ribbon cable off eBay but when I twist 12 wires together for the heated bed the resulting bundle of wires seems smaller than I remember in the kit. Does the kit use 26AWG? Finding a 26AWG 26 way ribbon cable on eBay isn’t proving really easy.

Can't answer what the kit provides, but a 28ga wire is rated at 1.4 amps maximum current for chassis wiring. I round down and just go with an amp per strand with a safe margin of error.

Yes the kit uses 28awg and use 12 wires so has plenty of current capacity for a 10A bed.

Thank you for those answers. I just did the calculations and I get it now. The cross section of 28AWG is 0.0810mm so times 12 is 0.972mm which is just less that the 32/0.2 (17AWG) wire that completes the cabling. So as long as I use 17AWG or thicker to complete the ribbon cable all should be fine.
