Which hot end do I have?
February 03, 2016 05:26AM
Hi guys,

a friend of mine gifted me a Mendel90 since he was never able to get it working. He bought a kit from nophead 2 years ago. I managed to get all motors working, calibrated them and levelled the heatbed. Now I tried to extrude some T-PLA (1,75mm, white). A small thread came out of the nozzle, but the rate is very slow.
I suspect I don't have the right temperature. I tried 180 - 240 °C, but I'm not sure if I have the right thermistor configured. Also I don't know the opening diameter of the hotend. Is there any possibility to find out which thermistor I have and which hotend? My friend doesen't remember anything and he doesen't have any information about it.
I hope you can help me...
Best regards,
Niko

Sorry to hear your friend had problems.

All kits were dispatched with 3mm hot ends with a 0.4mm nozzle. 1.75mm filament won't work.

The thermistor used is this one: [uk.farnell.com]

Firmware correctly configured for the kits is here: [github.com]

The instructions for the kit are here: [github.com]
