How to attach a file to a PM.

How do I attach a .stl file to a PM.

you actually can't do it,

what a lot of people seem to do is send a public drop-box link to the file, this obviously requires you to have dropbox installed,

i think it's just a feature that isn't in phorum

Go to the "control center" in the forum and go to "my files" / "edit my files" and attach whatever you want (within the file size limit) and then right click on the newly uploaded file and copy its location and use that to attach the file in the PM.

This image is in my files.

I have a .stl file, not a picture.
How would you attach a .stl file to a PM?

Make sure it is saved as a binary STL not an ascii because the ascii makes very large files (you can use Meshlab or Blender to save it as a binary if your program will not). If it is still too large to attach you can compress it with something like a Zip or Tar.gz . If you need even more compression you can use tar.7z (use 7zip as the compression tool).
