The first 3 numbers in the IP address (i.e. 192, 168 and 1) must be the same as the IP address of your PC. The net "192.168.1" is a common subnet for home networks, but there are other common addresses also (in particular "192.168.0") and your network may require a different first 3 digits. To find the IP address of your PC (and hence the correct first 3 numbers) you can type "ipconfig" in a command (DOS) window. The last (4th) number must be different to your PC and any other device on your network. To test connectivity, open a command (DOS) window and enter "ping 192.168.1.76" (or whatever IP address you have in your config file). If you do not get any ping replies, the connection is not working. If you get ping replies but the web interface will not connect, the most likely reason is that the IP address you have chosen is already assigned to another device on your network - try changing the last digit and try again.

Also note that the Default gateway needs to be the address of your Router!!
Doug
(Sorry Dave assume you missed that bit in an otherwise excellent piece of advice, or maybe it doesn't matter)
Also if your home network is enabled for DHCP you can set the IP address to 0.0.0.0 and it will pick it up itself and hopefully you can connect using the Printer Name.

For connecting by name what do you type into the address bar?
