Y axis disturbance - when "holes" made - SOLVED
January 09, 2014 01:47PM
Finally getting some prints out of the printer. All fairly ok there.

Figured out that printing from the SD card is by far the best.

BUT: When I printed the hook - the y axis slides a bit - making the hook like the picture. The "slide" occurs when the holes are started and ended.

This is only on the Y axis. If I print it via pronterface it does not have this issue (but not with a decent quality).

I printed 3 hooks and all have the exact same symptom.

Hi Astute,

either your y-axis is loose or you didn't compensate the axis?

Did everything.

When it prints via Pronterface - der is no slide at all.

When I SD print - I get the same result - the exact same place on the hook.

All my (very similar) Y axis problems were solved when I glued the belt to the carriage, even when it felt super tight it was still slipping sometimes. SD printing is faster so maybe that's why it only slips then.
