Slic3r settings for Omerod

Slic3r settings for Omerod

I have finally got RS343 up and running!
I can print out the sample G files (coathook etc)
When I use Slic3r to convert STL to G codes the result is all wrong - steps huge, no feed.
Pronterface shows this step coarseness.
QUESTION-
Does anyone have a good set of defaults to load into Slic3r for Omerod??
Thanks
Dennis

Hi Dennis,

The commissioning instructions covers your question:

6. The Ormerod files – profiles for Slic3r, and all the files you need to print another Ormerod

Hi 3D-ES
The commmisioning link does indeed tell yow you how to get the software. It is installed and runs the test pieces OK.
However when I load a STL file then the output winds up with a 'lay spacing' of 5mm, and no plastic feed.
It is this I am trying to fix.

Baffled and greatful for help.

I *think* I imported the configuration settings like this:

- Start Slic3r

- Open the tab "Print Settings"
- Click "File->Load config"
- Select the file "Slic3r-settings\ print \Ormerod-0.5.ini"

- Open the tab "Filament Settings"
- Click "File->Load config"
- Select the file "Slic3r-settings\ filament \Ormerod-0.5.ini"

- Open the tab "Printer Settings"
- Click "File->Load config"
- Select the file "Slic3r-settings\ printer \Ormerod-0.5.ini"

Since I am away from my printer, this answer might be wrong...

Instructions for installing the profiles are on the Printing page, here: [www.reprappro.com]

Sorry if I keep repeating myself, but reprap slicer settings dating back to December are incorrect. Unless you downloaded reprap settings after 07/01/2014 your printer will be using absolute rather than relative E distances and nothing will come out of the extruder.

In slic3r, under printer settings, general, tick the box Use relative E distance, slice your part and watch it print!

SNAP!

Looks like we posted similar threads at the same time.
Look at my thread near the bottom... DC42 posted the Slic3r ini files there... I'm getting perfect results now.

I have to ask, maybe dumb question, is the Slic3r that runs from pronterface the same thing as the latest windows GUI version? I am using the windows GUI version without issues but had no success with the pronterface installed version. The only problem I have at this stage is that my print jobs all develop blobs on sharp corners for example a box corner... probably settings as the default g-code examples for the Ormerod print perfectly.
