I swapped the fan with RS part 758-8207. It is pretty much silent (drowned by the PSU fan). It blows a bit less, but seems to cool perfectly adequately (I have taken extensive temperature measurements).

Erik,

did you use some whizzy gizzmo or some tricky scientific calculations to determine the size, mass and placement of you fan balancing attachment?

or

did you just whack a bit o' tape on it and hope?

Matt,

I looked at the small indentation and placed my bet, right on target, just a bit more tape

..but now I can't hear the fan vibrate when the nozzle homes the paper, so what I have saved on a new and better fan will have to be spend on reading glasses, there's always something ;-)

Just fitted one the difference is noise level is fantastic.
