loading g files from the SD card

Is their a limit to the number of g files you can have on the SD card?
I had 40 transferred from my computer to the SD card but when I installed the card in Ormerod and went to print, the list of files was incomplete. I wanted to print the last file that was loaded but couldn't see it.
I then took out the SD card and loaded it onto my computer and all the files were on the card.
I reduced the number by half and reloaded the card in Ormerod and this time my last file was listed.
I don't understand how all of the files on the card are not listed, it must be a restriction in the operating system.
Any thoughts on how to rectify this?

I think it is more a restriction on the file list length returned by the M20 command used to get the list which I think was 24 originally. If you use the DC42 firmware it supports a longer list of up to 42.

I am using DC42's firmware, I'll check again when my current print has finished. I think I had over 42, I will count this time.
