I had that once when my IR sensor was not installed completely vertical. Check the IR wiring as well. Then other people reported that it helps if you put some white or reflective material on the little tab near the X-motor that the IR sensor is supposed to recognize.

I have seen this happen to mine, if there is too much light in the room. For example my working-lamp shining directly on the Ormerod - or the sun shining through our big windows (not hitting the Ormerod, though).

I have not yet put any paper on tab, because I don't think it would help me with the "light"-problem.

Best regards,

Carsten

Hi Ant, on the X-axis mount there is an arm.... Use some of the silver taper that came with the kit on the arms top surface so the I.R. Probe can see it.
If it still hits the mounting then you must check:-
1) the connections are correct for the probe.
2)the sensors on the bottom on the probe may be bent. They should be at 90' to the PCB. So pointing down when installed.
Also move the Hot End to some where on the table...
type G31 (send) and it should display a number...
As you lower the probe towards the table then the number will get bigger....
If it doesn't then it sounds like you have a faulty probe....
Good Luck...
Kim..

Painted the tab on mine with correction fluid. Bright highly white reflective surface makes homex.g execute a nice bounce and settle as intended.
