G92 Z0 is it the way to set the heights?

I see that auto leveling will save to flash. is it g92 z0 does too? but after restart my head still not the same heights

You have to zero z each time you turn on the printer, because it could have moved since the last power

My normal procedure is to
home all axis
Setbed
X100 Y100
Lower the z till you can feel it on the paper, then drop down 0.5mm
Then I run G92 Z0.24

Not sure if its the correct way but I've been getting good prints and consistent results.

0.5mm? Seems a lot to me I would suggest 0.05mm. If you do 0.5 and your first layer is 0.24 then the printer will try to start at -0.26

I drop until it vibrates on the paper then G92 Z0 then start printing, not failed yet (with the new bed support of course)

No, auto levelling does not save to flash. The G31 parameters are saved to flash if you are using a recent build of my version of the firmware, but will be overridden by config.g if you set them there.

I've requested a mod to the Duet board to support voltage monitoring, so that the current XYZ coordinates can be saved to flash whenever power goes down.

ops i forgot i've put manual bed leveling in config.g spinning smiley sticking its tongue out

anyway so we need to Z0 everytime turn on then. thumbs up

So how high should i set the Z then cause when printing it will raise a heights of the first layer heights like 0.25 or 0.1 depends on settings.

SHould I just Z0 or the nozzle just stick to the bed?

No it will not stick, lower the (hot) nozzle slowly with a slip of thin paper under it until you can feel the vibrations of the fan in the paper, it will sound different too.

Pull the paper out, set G92 Z0, start printing, simples smiling smiley

I recently changed my bed, so the G31 setting in my config file was the old figure.
I was manually setting G92 Z0 for each print, but it was always running high.
Just re-done the G31 in the config file and now its printing perfectly, so it seems to ignore the manual G92 for me.
