Hi.
Found this nema 17 stepper motor with integrated lead screw 0,04mm per full step.

Interesting. Would need a modified mount to test it out though. It would certainly be less fun than the current gyrating z rod though! smiling smiley

It should be mounted so that the travelling nut is not bolted to the X-arm so that it cannot drive the nozzle into the bed. it will also need to move in the reverse direction as the present motor - but that's achieved simply by reversing the connector. And, of course, set up the Z steps per mm in the config file.

That's pretty cool. I found a similar product from China, and it's nice to see a supplier in the U.S. I originally was searching for rods that have ACME threads. I might just have to order one and experiment.
