sourcing laser cut parts (i recommend buying the kit)

hi folks,

We've self sourced the parts for a second omerod, as we bought the first one from a kit. Firstly, for those considering this route we saved almost nothing, spent a whole lot of spare time shopping online, and the only real advantage is that we have LOTS of spare screws and such.

so... in attempting to learn from our mistakes we are wondering if we can buy just a kit of the laser cut pieces. The place we got a quote from locally will only cut aluminium so the quote for the lot was $345 aus. ony good thing about that is having everything in aluminum but way expensive.

anyone have any suggestions as to where either:
we can buy all the laser cut parts as a kit ?
(or)
we can have them made from the original materials online somewhere that will ship to Australia?

thanks all,
101

You can order just the laser cut parts from us (or indeed, any individual part). Alternatively, you can download the dxf files yourself, and perhaps contact your local hackerspace [hackerspaces.org] who may cut them for you.

Long distance usually arrives in around 5-7 days
Postage for an x-arm kit to Australia is about £8 If I recall correctly

They won't be long smiling smiley

I broke a bit off mine too when building, acrylic is very delicate in some uses.

FWIW good old superglue works very well on acrylic, gives a very strong bond.
