If it's "Pretty Good as it Comes" then why are you modifying the stock that you have for the latest Ormerod 2?

As dc42 states really, I want to give my customers the best possible, it's not really a modification, just an improvement or extra option.

It can easily be done by the user with a file anyway if they wanted.

But yes, its best to run the bearing on the back face i think when using the aluminium part.

Maybe there is a fix which looks of course somehow like a fix. As Electrician I would never have thought that something like this may happen, but it happened:

Now I have an idea why the bearing is running against the bottom side.

Thanks, but the idea was not mine. It was only my idea to use a metal lineal as shim and to provide the instruction. I could not test the result yet. It is too late already to remount the MK1. i hope I can do so the next few days and that there are no more surprises.

Hi all,

Is there any interest on the X-Arm kits still?

I have three users wanting one but I really need to reach 6 or so before getting going.

Price is £40

Thanks

I am still quite unsure. For my second machine I use a solution somehow between the original Acrylic arm and the Aluminium arm. This is a lot of money especially when adding VAT and shipping to Germany and I will have to add a shim again.
So are there any pictures that shows a direct comparison before and after?
Unfortunately I cannot compare with my Ormerod 1 as it still has some undetected mechanical issues and also another nozzle so the printing quality of my MK2 is higher than the MK1.

Okay, I will take a look. But converting it in € I would have tio pay 80-90€ and that will be good reflective. The last time I had some issues with the X-arm at my MK1 as you know and my MK2 is working. At the moment I decided 69% for yes.

Regarding the pictures I meant printed parts. For example the 3DBenchy printed with the Acrylic arm and printed with the Aluminium arm.

Maybe you can describe what I can test. What I have to look for in detail. Okay I can bend the standard arm in Y-direction so I would get the biggest problems with high x-values. But does the standard arm really swing that much during printing? (No smartphone. Printing not pregnancy grinning smiley )
I remember that there was a change with my MK1, but I am unsure if this would help with my MK2.
