Heating bed thermosistor

Hi everyone,

I just got myself an Omerod 1 from RS and have been trying to commission it to get it running but I can't seem to get a proper reading out of the heating bed to start working on anything.
The reading I'm getting is T 25.8: B-59.5. I tried modifying the config.g file for the 4.7k thermosistor to see if it will fix the problem, but I end up with this reading T:B-128. Any help would be great. I'm not sure if its a faulty board or something else.

Hope to get some help and getting to start on some projects soon

Thanks,

Fred

Hi Fred

I updated the troubleshooting section to show how to test the thermistors: [reprappro.com]
This is actually the Ormerod 2 documentation; I haven't got around to copying it to the Ormerod 1 section yet, as I make small changes to it.

Hi Fredc,

If you had to crimp the pins on the bed thermistor leads yourself, one of those crimp connections is probably not making good contact. It's very hard to get good crimp connections there because the thermistor wires are so fine. I recommend soldering the thermistor leads to the crimp pins.

Thanks for the help! I found that it was the crimps on the ribbon cable which was faulty.
