Slic3r - Max Volumetric Speed

Just wondering if anyones messed around with the newest slicer's 'Max Volumetric Speed' setting.

If so, what numbers are people using with success and/or failure? I'm using the original one-piece nozzle system, I'd imagine that the quick-set nozzles might have a different Volumetric speed.... but who knows

I'm interested in seeing if the concept of 'constant volume' extrusion gives better print quality/performance/etc compared to measuring the speed by the nozzles movement on the XY plane.

IF your talking abaut setting your speed to 0 and enabling Auto speed ,then i can say it is probably not good for Ormerod with E3D ,the speed it was printing at was like 130mm/s(by eye could have been slower) even for 1st layer.... ,the nozzle could not keep up noticed the line was thining at some points ,the end result wasnt looking that good(altho i stoped it after 3 or 4 layers)

For me it worked. Maybe some settings were wrong? And you can reduce first layer speed - theoretically. And the quality itself was not bad.

Delta with Duet-WiFi, FW: 1.20.1RC2; mini-sensor board by dc42 for auto-leveling
Ormerod common modifications: Mini-sensor board by dc42, aluminum X-arm, 0.4 mm nozzle E3D like, 2nd fan, Z stepper nut M5 x 15, Herringbone gears, Z-axis bearing at top, spring loaded extruder with pneumatic fitting, Y belt axis tensioner
Ormerod 2: FW: 1.19-dc42 on Duet-WiFi. own build, modifications: GT2-belts, silicone heat-bed, different motors and so on. Printed parts: bed support, (PSU holder) and Y-feet.
Ormerod 1: FW: 1.15c-dc42 on 1k Duet-Board. Modifications: Aluminium bed-support, (nearly) all parts reprinted in PLA/ ABS, and so on.

For those who have used it, does autospeed make the volumetric speed constant throughout the entire time it is printing? Or does it only set a maximum volumetric speed that is sometimes not reached (aside from acceleration)?
