2×3 female black crimp socket
December 13, 2015 12:38PM
Gents,
Where in the UK or even in Europe can I buy a replacement 2×3 female black crimp socket as fitted to the Ormerod 2 first version?

I have looked everywhere without any success, I am sure the problem is that it is not commercially called a "2×3 female black crimp socket" which is why I cannot find one.

Thank you,

Brian

Thanks Doug,
It might possibly work but as I am only replacing the female half of the plug and socket I really need to get the same type.

I am fitting an all metal hot end which comes without a plug, if I can just change the hot end plug I can then keep the half on the wiring loom.

If you mean the 6-pin hot end connector, then possibly Molex 43025-0600 mating with 43020-0600, or TE Connectivity 794615-6, plus associated crimp pins. All available from Farnell. Best ask RepRapPro for the part numbers to be sure.

Disclosure: I design Duet electronics and work on RepRapFirmware, [duet3d.com].

OK they are commonly called a DUPONT Conector and I am sure you can fine plenty of them try this search
2x3 dupont shells

Doug

to be honest anything with a 2.54 mm pitch on the pins will do for you.

So what kind of connector are you talking of? The hot-end area or the Duet area, but I would guess the hot-end area. So dc42 gives you the right identification. I prefer the TE connectivity (as I was not able to get the Molex parts here). It seems they are slightly more stable than the Molex parts. I tested both of them and you can fully interchange them, but I do recommend a crimping tool. BTW you do not want to know the price for the original crimping tool of TE. grinning smiley

Ormerod 2: FW: 1.19-dc42 on Duet-WiFi. own build, modifications: GT2-belts, silicone heat-bed, different motors and so on. Printed parts: bed support, (PSU holder) and Y-feet.
