PanelDue is not starting
December 20, 2015 01:28AM
Hello,

I am using the PanelDue with firmware 1.13. My Ormerod 2 uses the firmware 1.09n-ch. After starting or restarting the Ormerod the PanelDue only shows the status "starting up" and that is it. What am I doing wrong?
Funnily the homing for example does work, but I am getting no feedback.

Best regards,

Sven

Sounds like the PanelDue is sending data to the Duet but not getting any back. Two suggestions:

1. Check the connection from the Din pin on the PanelDue to the TxD pin on the Duet.

2. Try with my 1.09m-dc42 firmware on the Duet.

Many thanks for the answer. I will check the first one first. That sounds to me the most likely reason as I am having really trouble with the connectors since I use the case.

What I Forgot to mention: After restarting the PanelDue everything is fine.

I confirm that this is caused by an issue with the code in 1.09n-ch. it does not occur in any of my firmware releases. I have emailed chrishamm advising him of what he needs to change.

*Oops* Okay many thanks for testing. I gave the ch-firmware a shot as I had trouble with your k-version because of stability especially regarding the network. As you both use some different network stack I tried ch's FW. But I recently thought of giving your -m-version another try as I have really trouble uploading files. The size of files often differs after uploading or the files get corrupted when I abort a print. Okay maybe the card needs to be reformatted, but it is more likely that the problem is a firmware related.
My currently (again) broken Ormerod 1 still uses your problematic FW version. First I wanted to update this printer to test your m-version. I will report about the stability. I think it will take me something about 20 hours to be able to flash your FW.

I expect to release 1.09o-dc42 tomorrow, and in that version I use chrishamm's latest network stack.

That would be perfect so I would wait until this release. I really hope that my file issues are not related to the network stack.
