I was going through my old pictures, and found these, dated 15th August 2013:

This is pretty much the first recognisable Ormerod. It's what RS saw, and then ordered 500 for Christmas! It was before we even had the Duet, so the electronics were a Melzi board.

Awesome! I love seeing stuff like this, showing how a design has progressed over time. Could you offer some insight into why the design progressed from this, to what it is now? Is that a threaded rod on the back of the x-axis? Why did you change the X from wood to acrylic?

Is there any part of this iteration that you wish you had kept?

Another RS Ormerod Mk1 meets the world smiling smiley

Retired now but I used to make....
CNC Machined Mk1 aluminium bed support plates for the Ormerod
CNC machined X-plates and ribs for Mk1 & Mk2 Ormerods
CNC machined bed support arms for the Mk2 Ormerod.
Dual Hot-End heatsink blocks.

They ordered 500 based on that mess??. You guys came through on that deal.
