Ormerod 1 cant communicate via Pronterface or Web interface
June 08, 2020 02:00AM
I have not used my printer in about 3 years.

I cleaned and oiled the slides and replaced a couple of cracked PLA parts.

When I connect via Pronterface it reads the bed and hotend temperatures, but I cannot control them, they both just keep rising.

Web interface reports Duet Firmware 0.59a-dc42

I can connect via Web interface, but once again no control.

Have been working on this for 6 hours today with no joy.

Can anyone give me an idea of what to try to get this working???

MORE INFORMATION:

motors do not lock and cannot jog
all wiring looms checked

Thanks in advance,

Rob.

It's possible the control board has failing components. Especially if heated bed and hotend temperature raise uncontrollably, it's a sign the mosfets are blown.

It's very rare for the heater mosfets to fail, so I suspect a firmware or configuration issue. Try reinstalling firmware using Bossa. You might like to try more recent firmware. The latest firmware for your board is version 1.26. If you do upgrade the firmware, you will also need to update the web files on the SD card, and make some changes to your config.g file.
