Hallo

Will a E3D V6 Hotend fix in the Hotend-Mount that is original on the Smartrapcore ALU ?
For me the " Bowden Version " of the E3D V6 looks much bigger !

Best Regards

Depends if your talking 1.75 filament or 3.0 filament.

E3D V6 1.75 Universal (Direct or Bowden) drawing
E3D V6 3.0 Direct drawing
E3D V6 3.0 Bowden drawing

According to the wiki drawings, the E3D V6 1.75 direct or bowden are the same physical size at 62.3mm. The E3D V6 3.0 direct is also 62.3, but the E3D V6 3.0 Bowden is shown as 65.6mm with a 1.6mm bowden clip. That being said, it only appears as the top side of the mounting ring is larger on the bowden, so there probably isn't any height difference to the nozzle using the Smartrapcore ALU hotend mount (assuming you got the original bowden mount and not his new direct drive piece)

I have the E3D V6 on my Smartrapcore ALU, but I didn't like how close the X axis homing switch was to the heatbed on the first few layers of printing, so I modified the bracket to lower my hotend slightly.

My solution was to relocate the x endstop to the left y slide. But lowering the bracket would probably make it a bit more stable. I found 1.75mm v6 fits the bracket perfectly.
