Reg is way to good for this world.

You are going to be the owner of a wonderful hot-end! (may i say top-class?)

Indeed. I'm am very grateful for the opportunity and will make sure to show how well it works. It looks like a top notch hot end and I'm very excited to have one.

Thanks again Reg!

Hi all,

I 'm a long time lurker here and I 've been following this project.
I haven't used Reg's hotend but all I 've heard about it is praise so it must be good.
I really want to order one myself now! And I would, if I hadn't just ordered a standard jhead... sad smiley
Oh well... next time I 'm in need of a new hotend, I will make sure to check Reg's site first winking smiley

Cheers everyone smiling smiley

You have a "Cheap Hotend", that works well for the money, but do you need to put others down that have a superior (and more expensive) product?

The mere fact that your hot end is more expensive doesn't mean it's higher quality. The fact that you're using a brass barrel vs. my stainless steal makes the J-Head Lite far superior from a thermodynamic point of view. My hot ends are not cheap, they are only less expensive. The reason they are less expensive is because I make them. I don't outsource the parts to another shop and mark up the cost. We cut out the middle man. Plus, prices for shipping and raw materials are less expensive in America vs. Australia. This is because our market is a lot stronger, we have less energy cost, less cost of living, and more options for material.

Also, I'm not putting anyone down. I have Asperger's Syndrome. I'm incapable of not saying exactly what I think.

The quality of the Genie hotent is very good, That your hotend is lower priced does that make it any better? I guess not..

But that's not for me to decide.

It doesn't really matter what hot end is the best the market is big enough and people can make their own choices. Reg is not competing with anyone he just makes excellent hotends for a fair price.
There is just no need to start a war about it...

BTW what type of printer do you have? (just wondering)

That's kind of a tough question. I've built 9 printers so far. The first was a cupcake, which after a year or so of faithful service, I gave away to my step uncle. The next two were an acrylic framed Air 1 (sort of). Both of which I destroyed. The next two were straight Air 2's. One of which I still have and the other I sold. I was then really fascinated by the I3... then I met Prusa in person and turns out he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. The last three are hard to talk about on here. I don't like using the smart rap forum as a marketing platform. cough. cough. cough.

Ok, 9 thats quiet a lot, are you also building a smartrap?

BTW. What makes you a 'sharper knife' then Prusa? Why this hostile approach toward him aswell? Mr. Prusa managed to get many people printing on this planet.

I must admit stealing a few parts from the smartrap for my build, but I haven't built one. I do admire the minimalist technique. I started softening on Prusa when he started trolling thingiverse, which I couldn't support. Then he sold a $100 hot end that was as useful as a paper weight.

But how does that make you a 'shaper knife' then?
