Reg's genie hotend is a very good choice, in my experience. It costs a little more than 20 pounds because you have also considerable shipping costs if you don't live in Australia, but it is worth. If you live in Europe (UK I guess), shipping costs may be considerably lower if you can wait for three or four weeks (I should receive a small batch, soon).
The default hotend of the Smartrap should still be the same of the
ormerod (Serge, please correct me if I am mistaken) which for most of the people works very well and should be quite cheap. I had some issues with it (too frequent clogs) so I switched to Reg's Genie hotend as soon as I discovered it.
I tested it with several filaments and it worked perfectly with all of them (except one which requires some care, but not because of the hotend).
