Hallo Daniel,
typische 'gute' Motoren haben 200 Schritte pro Umdrehung und ziehen um die 2 Ampere Strom pro Phase bei 2-3 Volt Nominalspannung, du kannst dir einen RepStrap aber auch mit Motoren Aufbauen, die 'nur' knapp 1 Ampere bei 5 Volt ziehen, oder auch 0,4A bei 12 Volt, u.s.w.
Schau dich bei [de.nanotec.com] um, ab Flanschgr

neben dem Tripod habe ich mir noch ein paar andere Konzepte angesehen (z.B. [forums.reprap.org] ) - mein Favorit ist zur Zeit noch ein Parallel-Scara-Robot (siehe der Link zu HarmonicDrive im letzten Post des verlinkten Threads), da ich ein System mit einer Genauigkeit unter 5 Mikrometern aufbauen m

@Victor...Das mit dem Scara is ne echt guter Startpunkt. Den Tripod finde ich als Endpunkt sehr gut. Weil er die Flexibilit

Sorry for hopping in another country's thread, but Germany is closed to my home country (Hungary) and I keep checking this forums for the possibility of useful information...
I am quite far from the 400Euros on my Reprap. My machine is finished and functional and except for running into software issues the structure is working well. I have spent about 1200 Euros on my whole machine during the building phase. This includes everything like mechanics, electronics, material and shipping costs. And finally it turned out that I do not have the precision I want... I am not building a screw driven CNC mechanics (like repstrap) where my aim is to get down to 0.05 mm in precision. (now I have 0.25, I know wiki says it should be 0.1 but I doubt it...)
I think repstrap is the best option at this stage of the project run with arduino electronics, so you do not run into software issues...

Well, it is not very difficult to calculate:
mechanical kit from bitsfrombyte costs now: 350 GBP which is roughly 400 Euros. Without tax and shipping which I do not know how much for german people but I would say at least 100 GBP. (To Hungary 150 GBP) So you are at 500 GBP (600 Euros only with the mechanical kit)
The electronics which I think you can make now for 150 Euros. This makes 750 total.
Then a few additional things like PIC programmer, cables, Power supply make it 800.
And finally, I upgraded the z axis. As you can see I use aluminium pulleys which increased the cost. Then when I built my reprap steppers cost more. If you can go under 1000 maybe live in the right spot (so you can save money on shipping :-))

Just another addition that I am not alone with this cost: [builders.reprap.org]
I am still thinking how it could be possible to build a reprap of 400 Euros, but do not know the solution yet...
It would be good to have your prices too, please let me know beacuse I am a little worried that I spent at least double that I was supposed to! :-))
