I have been searching the internet for about two months now. I now see that the makerbot gen 4 electronics is obsolete. I have a mendel on loan from a friend , and I can not get it to work. The printer was in storage for a long while, some of that time in New Mexico, that seems to have corrupted the boards. So far I have managed to get a working bootloader onto the Arduino mega 1280 and Thing-o-matic firmware onto the Makerbot motherboard v2.4. I am having trouble getting the extruder controller v3.6 to load firmware. I am really not sure that this firmware is even compatible with this printer. The friend that loaned it to me is in the Navy and out to sea, so I have no way to ask him any questions about it. I am pretty sure that he bought it as a kit, his wife has no idea if there was a software disk with it or not. It appears that Makerbot no longer supports this hardware. If anyone has any suggestions or the original software, I would greatly appreciate the help.
