Safe Voltage Adjustment?
February 15, 2015 11:35PM
My printer is a Twoup using the stock power supply to run both a 40w heated bed and a 40w hotend heater (HPB reaches 60 degrees degrees easily, and I havent many had any issues with ABS warp) But that is as high as it goes on 12v. As the printrboard clone can reach 20v, can I adjust the voltage trimmer on the stock power supply to obtain a higher voltage? I am wondering if it is designed as a variable voltage supply, or if it is just a trimpot to set it to exactly 12v. Anyone got any ideas on whether tweaking the trimpot as high as it can go is safe for an already unsafe power supply? I want my heater to go higher temperature but I doubt my 16v 7.5A IBM ThinkSlab laptop power supply could run both the heated bed, hotend, and motors.
