Stepper Motors Get Toasty Too

so a print failed, and the hot end clogged (up mini), thus i wanted to take it out and repair it ASAP.

i decided to pick it up by the stepper motor, which, as the title suggests, was a little warm... but my hand did not realize such until i was holding it over my surface (printer computer/tablet)

my hand then instantly let go and now i am sad because i need to use a mac (ugh) as my printer computer

so remember... pain is bad, heat is pain, and steppers get hot

I feel sorry for you. Especially the crapple part. I dont like crapple computers either. My computer I print from is my gaming pc, and I really need a smart controller. gaming and printing dont work at the same time... My laptop has such an outdated graphics processor that it cant even render repetier host. Anyway, give them a fan or turn down the current. my nema17 motors run absolutely STONE COLD without any skips, and my extruder motor runs rather warm (its just the stepper assembly from a flatbed scanner because it weighs hardly anything) so I put a fan on it connected to the coldend fan.
