Thermistor wire breakage safety?

If the hot end temperature is measured 0ºC,
then the heater must be shut off immediately because it means the thermistor wire broke.

Is it possible to set a lower temperature limit for this somewhere?

The latest version of Repetier firmware has a lot of additional safety features. Have a look at the configuration web page.
